Attention:
- Do not burn yourself with hot engine oil.
- Prolonged and frequent contact with used engine oil can cause skin cancer. Try to avoid getting used oil on your skin. If the oil gets on the skin, you should wash your hands as soon as possible with soap or detergent.
1. Warm up the engine and check for oil leaks from engine components. See section «Oil leak».
2. Stop the engine and wait 10 minutes.
3. Remove the cap from the filler hole and unscrew the plug from the drain hole.
4. Drain the engine oil.
5. Screw the plug into the drain hole with a new washer. See chapter Mechanical part of the engine.
Attention: Clean the drain plug and screw in with a new washer.
Oil pan drain plug: 29.4-39.2 Nm (3.0-3.9 kg m)
Specifications and oil viscosity: See chapter General information and maintenance.
6. Fill with fresh engine oil.
Oil filling capacity (approx drip):
Drain and refill | With oil filter change | 3.4 l |
No oil filter change | 3.2 l | |
Dry engine (after overhaul) | 3.9 l |
Attention:
- The filling capacity depends on the oil temperature and the duration of the drain. Use these specifications as a guide only.
- To reliably determine the amount of oil in the engine, use an oil dipstick.
7. Warm up the engine and check for oil leaks around the drain plug and oil filter.
8. Stop the engine and wait 10 minutes.
9. Check the oil level. See section «Oil level and contamination».
