Caution: To avoid burns from coolant, never remove the expansion tank or radiator cap while the engine is hot. Escaping fluid from the radiator cap or expansion tank can cause severe burns. Wait until the engine and radiator have cooled down.
The engine cooling system is factory-filled with a high quality coolant that is designed for year-round use and has a long service life. The coolant has a low freezing point and contains a complex of anti-corrosion additives, so additional additives are not required.
Attention:
- Only genuine Nissan Antifreeze Coolant L250 should be used for topping up and replacing (ratio with distilled water 50%/50%).
- The use of other coolants may damage the engine cooling system.
- If your car's radiator is designed to use a plug, then you need to use a genuine NISSAN plug.
Checking the coolant level
The coolant level in the expansion tank is monitored when the engine is cold. If the fluid level drops below the mark «MIN» ②, which is printed on the wall of the expansion tank, you should add liquid and bring its level to the mark «MAX» ①. If there is no coolant in the expansion tank, check the coolant level in the radiator (cold engine only). If necessary, add the recommended coolant to the radiator and bring the level to the bottom of the filler neck. Then add fluid to the expansion tank up to the mark «MAX».
