Steering wheel — Inspection and maintenance on the vehicle — Checking the neutral position of the steering wheel

Perform a neutral check after checking the front wheel alignment. See chapter Front axle and suspension.

Turn the steering wheel to the straight ahead position and make sure it is in the neutral position.

If the steering wheel does not move to neutral, loosen the outer tie rod lock nut and adjust by rotating the inner tie rod ends in opposite directions until the left and right distances are the same.
