1. Rear door window glass molding; 2. Window glass tailgate; 3. Clamp; 4. Strut; 5. Sealant; 6. Primer; 7. Rear door outer panel
Removing
1. Remove trim from inside rear door. See section «Exterior finish».
2. Remove the rear window wiper arm. See chapter electrical equipment.
3. To prevent damage to painted surfaces, stick a protective tape around the perimeter of the rear door window pane.
4. After removing the molding, remove the glass with a knife or electric cutter and an inflatable bag.
Note: If rear door window glass is being reinstalled, mark the body and glass.
Attention:
- When cutting glass from a car, wear safety goggles and thick gloves to prevent glass shards from getting into your eyes or injuring your hands.
- When reusing the rear door window pane, do not use a knife or power cutter.
- Do not scratch the glass during the removal process.
- Do not put the glass on the end. Small chips can turn into cracks.
5. Remove the rear door window glass using suction cups.
Installation
Use a genuine Nissan urethane adhesive kit or equivalent and follow the instructions that come with it.
The installation procedure and precautions are the same as for the windshield.
