Shift lock system, removal and installation of the lock cable

The AT mode switching lock and the ignition switch lock provide the following points:

• When the ignition switch is in the position «ON», the selector lever cannot be moved out of position «P» with the brake pedal released;
• With the ignition key removed from the lock, the selector lever cannot be removed from the position «P»;
• The ignition key cannot be removed until the selector lever is in the «P».

Removal and installation of a cable

Lock cable attachment

1. Release the slider from the adjustment holder by squeezing the locking tabs on the slider.

2. Remove the cable jacket from the bracket and disconnect the lock rod from the cable.

3. Remove the holder from the ignition lock cylinder and remove the cable.

4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.

5. After attaching the cable to the ignition lock, set the lock to the position «LOCK», and set the selector lever to position «P», and only then install the stem.
