Oil pump installation and assembly components
1 - Front cover of the cylinder block; 2 - Inner rotor; 3 - Outer rotor; 4 - Oil pump cover
1. The oil pump is built into the front cover of the cylinder block. Removal and installation of the front cover is described in Section Removal and installation of the timing chain.
2. If it is necessary to disassemble or check the oil pump, remove its cover and remove the inner and outer gears of the pump from the front cover of the cylinder block.
3. If necessary, alternately measure the gaps between the back plane of the front cover and the pump gears. Measure the outer diameter of the lug of the inner gear, as well as the inner diameter of the hole in the front cover. Calculate the clearance by subtracting the smaller from the larger value.
4. Compare the received data with the requirements Specifications and if necessary, replace the front cylinder block cover assembly.
