Seat and headrest positions
The design of car seats guarantees maximum comfort for the person sitting in them, while at the same time providing conditions for the most effective performance of their functions by seat belts and airbags. The choice of seat position also has an impact on the safety of the person sitting in it. For example, moving the front seat too far forward increases the risk of injury to the occupant when the airbag deploys, as well as the risk of being thrown through the windshield in a frontal collision.
Increasing the inclination of the seat back will worsen the fixation of the body by the seat belt - the more the back is tilted back, the higher the likelihood of slipping of the body sitting under the lap section of the belt in a strong frontal impact, and the more severe the injuries can be.
Lock the front seat in the position as far as possible from the steering wheel / instrument panel, and at the same time convenient for driving the car, bring the backrest to a vertical position.
Headrests prevent injury to the cervical spine and head in a rear impact. The head restraint should be adjusted in height so that its upper cut is flush with the upper edge of the ear of the seated person.
To increase the height of the head restraint, simply pull it in the appropriate direction. To lower the height, press the release button and lower the head restraint.
The rear seat headrests should also be adjusted to one of the fixed positions. The lowest position of the rear seat headrests is inoperative and is used only for folding the rear seatback. Some models have active front seat headrests. Such head restraints, when hit by a car from behind, move forward due to the inertia of the body of the seated passenger. This helps to reduce the dynamic tilt of the head back and reduces the load on the cervical vertebrae. Active head restraints are designed for impacts at low to medium speeds and return to a similar position after impact.
The front seats are manually adjusted. The corresponding handles and release levers are shown in the illustrations below. Seat cushion and lumbar support adjustment is not available on all models. For safety reasons, the seat should only be adjusted when the vehicle is stationary.

The front seatbacks of the front seats can be folded forward to allow entry and exit of passengers in the rear seat on vehicles with a 3-door body. To do this, pull the lever on the side of the backrest up. The backrest will automatically tilt forward. When the backrest is returned to the upright position, the memory device (with appropriate equipment) ensures the backrest is set at the original angle of inclination
Folding the rear seats
Reclining the rear seat back
To access the luggage compartment from the passenger compartment, it is possible to fold the side parts of the rear seat backrest. To do this, insert the seat belt buckle into the holder, lower the head restraints to the lowest position and remove the luggage compartment cover. Then pull the strap and lower the seatback. When returning the backrest to its original position, make sure that it is securely fixed.
Moving the rear seat
On some models, the rear seat can be moved back and forth. To do this, while in the cabin, lift the lock lever located under the seat cushion. Additionally, the rear seat can be moved back out of the luggage compartment by pulling on the strap.
