Removal
1. Remove the rear driveshaft. See above
2. Remove the rear drive shafts. See chapter «Rear axle and suspension».
3. Disconnect the connector from the 4WD solenoid.
4. Disconnect the rear final drive breather hose and electronic clutch.
5. Support the main gear under a walking jack.
6. Unscrew the final drive mounting nuts and bolts. If necessary, remove the final drive mounting bracket.
Attention. When removing the final drive assembly, secure it to a jack.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- When connecting the breather hoses, refer to the illustration and the following description.
Attention. Make sure that the breather hose does not have any pinched or narrowed areas that may have been caused by bending or folding during installation.
Connect the breather hose (1) rear final drive to breather fitting (2). Insert the breather fitting into the bracket (3). Make sure the paint mark (A) on a metal fitting (4) facing the front of the vehicle as shown in the illustration.

Put on the breather hose (1) electronically controlled couplings onto a metal tube to the location indicated by the thick arrow (). Make sure the coupling cover is (2) metal tube (3) facing the front of the car as shown by the contour arrow.
: In front of the car.
- If oil leakage occurs when removing the reverse gear assembly, check the oil level after installation. See above
