Examination
1. Make sure the clutch master cylinder rod end moves freely. Its movement should not be limited by the clutch pedal.
- If there is any obstruction to the free movement of the rod tip, remove the rod tip and check for deformation or damage. Do not install the rod in place until step 2 is completed.
2. Check the free play of the clutch pedal.
A. Move the clutch pedal up and down by hand with the clutch master cylinder rod end removed and check that it moves freely.
b. If sticking is observed, replace the clutch pedal assembly.
- Then check again that the clutch master cylinder rod end moves freely.
3. Check the position of the cruise control clutch switch (on models with cruise control).
A. If the rod end moves and sticks, make sure there is no load applied to the clutch pedal from the cruise control clutch switch causing the rod end to bind. In this case, disconnect the connector from the switch and make adjustments by rotating the cruise control clutch switch.
b. Connect the connector to the cruise control clutch switch.
4. Check if hydraulic clutch components are seizing (clutch master cylinder assembly, concentric slave cylinder).
A. If binding is observed, correct the problem or replace the affected components.
b. In case of repair of the clutch hydraulic drive, perform bleeding. See below.
Note. Do not use a vacuum or mechanical device to bleed the hydraulic drive, as such devices do not completely remove air from the system.
Adjustment
Cruise control clutch switch
Adjust the position of the cruise control clutch switch (1) so that the gap between the clutch pedal (2) and the threaded tip of the switch with the clutch pedal fully released became equal to the value «A» (on models with cruise control).
Gap «A». See paragraph below. «Technical data and specifications».
Clutch switch
- Adjust the position of the clutch switch (1) so that the gap between the clutch pedal (2) and the threaded tip of the switch with the clutch pedal fully depressed became equal to the value «WITH» (if available).
Gap «WITH». See paragraph below. «Technical data and specifications».
