Learning the closed throttle position

The procedure is the operation of teaching the ECM to close the throttle position by monitoring the output of the throttle angle sensor. This must be done after replacing the electric throttle actuator or ECM.

1. Preparation

Make sure all of the following conditions are met. If one of them is not observed even for a moment, the training procedure is canceled.

Note. If the throttle valve does not operate properly, the learning procedure may not take place.

• vehicle speed: 0 km/h;
• accelerator pedal: released;
• battery voltage, more than 10 V (ignition key to position «ON» without starting the engine);
• engine coolant temperature 20-100°C;
• intake air temperature: above -20°C;
• Go to step 2.

2. Teach closed throttle position

• Turn the ignition key to position «ON» and wait more than 10 seconds. Verify by sound that the throttle valve moves within the specified 10 seconds. Go to step 3.

3. Check the DTC

1. Turn the ignition key and wait at least 10 seconds.

2. Check the DTC.

Code P1299 or P2109 is detected.
