Removal and installation
Removal
Attention. Avoid getting burned by hot engine oil and coolant.
1. Remove the front right wheel.
2. Drain the coolant by removing the plugs from the drain holes in the cylinder block and on the radiator. See below and chapter «Mechanical part of the engine».
3. Remove the mounting bolts from the oil cooler.
4. Disconnect the water hoses from the oil cooler.
5. Remove the oil cooler.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Check after removal
Oil cooler
Check the oil cooler for cracks. Check to see if the oil cooler is clogged by blowing air through the coolant inlet pipe. Replace the oil cooler if necessary.
Check after installation.
1. Check the engine oil and engine coolant levels and top up.
2. Start the engine and check for engine oil or engine coolant leaks.
3. Stop the engine and wait 10 minutes.
4. Check the engine oil and engine coolant levels again.
