Removal and installation
Removal
Attention. Avoid getting burned by hot engine oil and coolant.
1. Drain the coolant from the radiator and cylinder block. See below and chapter «Mechanical part of the engine».
2. Unscrew the oil filter using a wrench (special tool KV10115801). See above.
3. Disconnect the water hoses from the oil cooler.
- When removing only the oil cooler, pinch the water hoses near the oil cooler to prevent engine coolant from escaping.
- Since residual coolant will leak out of the pipes, prepare a tray to collect it.
Attention. Perform this operation when the engine is cold.
4. Unscrew the connecting bolt and remove the oil cooler.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the connection bolt (2), aligning the stopper (A) from the oil pan side (upper) with projection on oil cooler (1).
Check after removal
Oil cooler
Check the oil cooler for cracks. Check to see if the oil cooler is clogged by blowing air through the coolant inlet pipe. Replace the oil cooler if necessary.
Check after installation
1. Check the engine oil and engine coolant levels and top up.
2. Start the engine and check for engine oil or engine coolant leaks.
3. Stop the engine and wait 10 minutes.
4. Check the engine oil and engine coolant levels again.
