Removal and installation
Removal
1. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe. See chapter "Accelerator, fuel system and exhaust system".
2. Remove the cover from the exhaust manifold.
3. Unscrew heated oxygen sensor 1.
- Unscrew heated oxygen sensor 1 using a wrench (special tool KV10117100).
Attention. Handle the sensor with care and do not hit or drop it.
Note. The exhaust manifold can be removed and installed without removing the heated oxygen sensor 1 (you need to disconnect the electrical connector).
4. Remove the right drive shaft and drive shaft support bearing bracket. See chapter "Front axle and suspension".
5. Remove the exhaust manifold strut.
6. Remove the exhaust manifold.

- Loosen the nuts in the reverse order shown in the illustration.
7. Remove the gasket.
Attention. To prevent foreign particles from entering, seal the openings in the engine.
Installation
1. Install the gasket on the cylinder head as shown in the figure.
2. Install the exhaust manifold as follows.
A. Tighten the nuts in the order indicated by the numbers in the illustration.
b. Tighten the nuts again in the order indicated by the numbers in the figure.
With. Install the rack (2) exhaust manifold in the direction shown in the figure.

Note. The picture shows an example of a 2WD model.
3. Install the remaining components in the reverse order of removal.
Check after removal
Surface warping
Using a ruler (IN) and feeler gauge (A) Check whether the contact surface of the exhaust manifold is warped.
Limit: See section below «Technical data and specifications».
- If warpage exceeds the limit value, replace the exhaust manifold.
