Removal and installation
Removal
1. Remove the camshafts. See above.
2. Remove the valve tappets. See above.
3. Rotate the crankshaft until the piston of the cylinder on which the oil seal needs to be removed is at TDC. This will prevent the valve from falling into the cylinder.
Attention. When turning the crankshaft, do not pinch the timing chain with the front cover.
4. Take out the crackers.
- Compress the valve spring using a tool, attachment and adapter (special tool KV10U6200) (A).
Attention. When carrying out work, do not damage the holes for the valve tappets.
5. Remove the valve spring retainer and valve spring (with valve spring seat).
Attention. Do not remove the valve spring seat from the valve spring.
5. Remove the valve seal using a puller (special tool KV10107902) (A).
Installation
1. Apply fresh engine oil to the new valve seal and sealing lip.
2. Press in the valve seal using a drift (special tool KV10115600) (A) up to height «N», as shown in the picture.
Height «N». 15.1-15.7 mm
3. After this operation, installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
Front oil seal
Removal
1. Remove the following components:
- protective trim from the front right fender; see chapter "Interior and exterior equipment".
- drive belt; see above.
- crankshaft pulley; see above.
2. Remove the front oil seal using a suitable tool.
Attention. Avoid damaging the front timing chain cover and crankshaft.
Installation
1. Apply fresh engine oil to the sealing lip and dust lip of the new front oil seal.
2. Press in the front oil seal so that the edges point in the direction shown in the figure.

B. Seal lip.
- Press in the front oil seal using a suitable drift with an outer diameter of 57 mm and an inner diameter of 45 mm.
- Within 0.3 mm towards the front of the engine (from the crankshaft pulley side).
- Within 0.5mm towards the rear of the engine (from the crankshaft sprocket side).
Attention:
- Do not damage the front cover and crankshaft.
- To avoid the formation of burrs and distortion of the oil seal, press it in at a right angle.
- After this operation, installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
Rear oil seal
Removal
1. Remove the gearbox assembly. See chapters "Clutch and manual transmission" And "Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT)".
2. Remove the clutch cover and driven disc (on models with manual transmission).
3. Remove the drive disc (on models with CVT) or flywheel (on models with manual transmission). See below.
4. Remove the rear oil seal using a suitable tool.
Attention. Avoid damaging the crankshaft and cylinder block.
Installation
1. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the entire outer area of the new rear oil seal.
- Use branded sealant or equivalent.
2. Press in the rear oil seal so that the edges point in the direction shown in the figure.
