Removal and installation
Removal
1. Remove the engine protection from the bottom.
2. Drain the engine oil. See chapter "Engine lubrication and cooling system".
3. Remove the oil pan (lower) as follows.
A. Loosen the mounting bolts in the reverse order shown in the figure.
b. Insert cutter (special tool) between the upper and lower oil pans.
Attention. Do not damage the contact surfaces.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
1. Install the oil pan (lower) as follows.
A. Using a scraper (A) remove any remaining old sealant from the contact surfaces.
- Also remove any remaining old sealant from the oil pan contact surface (upper).
- Remove any old sealant from the bolt holes and threads.
Attention. Be careful not to scratch or damage the contact surfaces when removing old sealant residue.
b. Apply sealant (A) continuous strip using a syringe (suitable special tools) to the areas shown in the figure on the next page.
- Use branded sealant or equivalent.
Attention. Installation should be completed within 5 minutes after application.
1. Oil pan (lower).
- Tighten the bolts in the order indicated by the numbers in the figure.
Check after removal
If the oil prefilter [oil pan component (upper)] any objects are stuck, clean it.
Check after installation
1. Check the oil level and adjust it to normal. See chapter "Engine lubrication and cooling system".
2. Start the engine and check for engine oil leaks.
3. Stop the engine and wait 10 minutes.
4. Check the oil level again. See chapter "Engine lubrication and cooling system".
