Removal and installation
Removal
1. Drain the engine coolant from the radiator. See above.
Attention. Perform this operation when the engine is cold.
2. Disconnect the radiator hose (upper). See above.
3. Disconnect the connector from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
4. Disconnect the water and heater hoses.
5. Remove the outlet pipe.
6. If necessary, remove the engine coolant temperature sensor from the outlet pipe.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- Water distribution valve.
- Install the thermostat so that the flange parts (A) securely fastened around the entire perimeter inside the rubber ring (1).
- Install water distribution valve (2) arrow (A) and the central part of the body (IN) up.
1. Outlet pipe.
Check after removal
Water distribution valve
Tie a thread (A) so that it is secured to the valve of the water distribution valve (1). Immerse it completely in the container (IN) with water. Reheat by shaking.
- The valve opening temperature is the temperature at which the valve opens and falls off the string.
- Continue heating. Check the lift height when fully opened.
Note. The standard temperature of the lift height when the water distribution valve is fully opened is a reference value.
- After checking the lift height when fully opened, reduce the water temperature and check the valve closing temperature.
Standard: See paragraph below. «Technical data and specifications»
- If the measured value is abnormal, replace the water distribution valve.
Check after installation
- Check for coolant leaks by applying pressure using an adapter (suitable special tools) and pump (suitable special tools). See above.
- Start the engine and warm it up. Carry out a visual inspection to ensure there are no coolant leaks.
