Attention. Carry out the test with the engine not running.
- Make sure the pointer (notch on the fixed part) on the automatic drive belt tensioner is within the range of possible operation (between four notches on the moving part).
Note. Check the location of the automatic tensioner indicator on a cold engine.
- When installing a new drive belt, the indicator (notch on the fixed part) must be within range (WITH) in the picture.
- Visually inspect the entire belt to ensure there is no wear, damage or cracks.
- If the pointer (notch on the fixed part) is outside the permissible operating range or the belt is damaged, replace the drive belt.
