General service
General maintenance refers to components that should be inspected during normal daily use of the vehicle. They are required to maintain the normal performance of the car. Car owners can perform the checks themselves or have them performed by a NISSAN dealer.
Outside the car
Unless otherwise noted, the following components should be inspected periodically.
Component | |
Tires | Periodically use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure in your tires, including the spare one when you go to a service station and, if necessary, adjust the pressure to normal. Check carefully for damage, cuts or excessive wear. |
Windshield wiper blades | If they work abnormally, check for cracks or wear |
Doors and hood | Make sure all doors, engine compartment hood, trunk lid and tailgate open and close properly. Also make sure all latches lock securely. Lubricate them if necessary. Make sure the secondary latch prevents the hood from opening when the primary latch is released. When driving on roads that contain salt or other corrosive materials, check frequently to ensure there is sufficient lubrication. |
Tire rotation | Tires should be rotated on 2WD models every 10,000 km; on 4WD models - every 5,000 km |
