2. Depress the brake pedal.
3. Cars with manual transmission (MCP):
Move the gearshift lever to neutral position (N) Press the clutch pedal fully and start the engine.
Cars with automatic transmission (automatic transmission) or stepless variator (CVT).
Press the brake pedal and move the selector lever to position P or N (prefer. is positive R).
Note: The starter is blocked if the gear selector lever is not in position P or N.
Models with system «Intelligent Key».
Slowly press the ignition switch (PUSH ON) and depress the brake pedal. If the system warning lamp "Intelligent Key" The green light on the instrument panel means that the ignition switch is unlocked. In order for the ignition switch to work, you must have the key with you "Intelligent Key".
If the system lock indicator lamp «Intelligent Key» lights up red and an audible signal sounds, you must make sure that:
- The gear lever is in position N (cars with manual transmission);
- The automatic transmission selector lever is in position P (models with automatic transmission or CVT);
- The ignition key is returned to the LOCK position.
4. Turn the ignition key to the START position without pressing the accelerator pedal.
5. After starting the engine, immediately release the ignition key. If the engine starts and stalls, repeat the procedures described above.
6. After starting, you must let the engine idle for at least 30 seconds. The initial part of the journey should be done at moderate speed, especially in cold weather.
NISSAN security system (NATS)
This system will not allow the engine to start without a registered NATS key. If the engine does not start with a registered NATS key, the reason may be:
- Using a different NATS key.
- An automatic toll device, an automated toll machine, or other devices emitting similar signals.
Try to start the engine with barely any wind:
1. Remove objects that may interfere with the NATS key.
2. Leave the ignition key in the ON position for approximately 5 seconds.
3. Then turn the ignition key to the OFF or LOCK position and wait approximately 5 seconds.
4. Start the engine.
5. Repeat the above steps until the interference is eliminated.
