Hill start assist system (if available)

When stopping on an incline, Hill Start Assist automatically maintains braking force as the driver takes his foot off the brake pedal and places it on the accelerator pedal. This helps prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards. This system turns on automatically in the following cases:

• When the car is completely stopped on an incline by pressing the brake pedal.
• When any forward or reverse gear is engaged.

Note. The system is capable of holding the car in place for no more than 2 seconds. After 2 seconds, the vehicle will begin to roll backwards and the system will stop functioning completely.

The system does not function in the following cases:

• When the automatic transmission selector lever is set to position N or P.
• When the car is parked on a level, horizontal road.
