- When you press the button, the audio system will turn on and the radio will begin broadcasting the last received radio station if the audio system was operating in radio receiver mode before turning off.
FM and AM buttons
- To switch the following frequency ranges, use the FM and AM buttons.
FM band
FM1 → FM2 → FMT.
AM band
MW →LW → MW.
- If the ignition key is set to ACC or ON, then when you press the FM or AM button, the radio will turn on the same radio station to which it was tuned before turning off.
- If a CD is already playing, pressing the FM or AM button turns off the CD player and the system switches to the mode of broadcasting the latest station on the tuned radio station.
Remembering FM TRAVEL band settings
If you press and hold the FM button for more than 1.5 seconds, the six radio stations with the strongest signal will be automatically memorized for the preset buttons (from 1 to 6) in the FMT range. While searching for radio stations, an information message appears on the display and the sound is muted until tuning is completed. Once the setup is complete, the system switches to broadcasting the radio station whose frequency corresponds to preset button 1.
Manual radio tuning
- Press the or buttons to increase or decrease the tuning frequency.
- The frequency step is 100 kHz in the FM band, 9 kHz in the MW band and 3 kHz in the LW band.
Automatic radio tuning
Click the or button to enable automatic setup. When the system finds a working radio station, it will stop at that frequency.
Radio station preset buttons
- The audio system can store up to 18 FM stations [six for each band] (FM1, FM2 and FMT)]. You can also store up to six stations for the MW and LW bands.
- For a short (less than 2 seconds) By pressing the preset button, the broadcast of the radio station that corresponds to this button will begin.
- To program a radio station frequency manually:
1. Tune the radio to the frequency of the desired station using the or button.
2. Press and hold one of the preset buttons ((1) - (6)) until you hear a beep. When the preset button is pressed, the radio sound is muted.
3. The channel number will appear on the display and the sound will be restored. This indicates that the frequency of the selected station has been successfully stored in the radio’s memory.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the remaining preset buttons.
Radio transmission system (RDS)
System (RDS) allows you to transmit additional information in encoded digital form simultaneously with the main FM radio signal.
Note. Some RDS service functions may not be available in some countries or regions.
Alternative frequency radio signal (AF).
The automatic selection of alternative radio frequencies AF can be enabled when the radio is operating in the FM band.
- The AF function works when listening to an FM radio station or when playing CDs (if the system previously operated in the FM range).
- When the AF function has been activated using the Personal Setting menu (ON position - turned on), the AF indicator appears on the display.
When AF mode is on, the following functions are performed:
Automatic radio retuning function.
This function compares the signal strength of radio stations on all alternative frequencies (AF frequency list) and selects the radio station with the best reception conditions.
Search for a radio station by PI identification code.
If, as a result of searching through the list of alternative frequencies AF, the radio receiver does not find any suitable radio station, then it automatically proceeds to search for a radio station using the PI code. When searching by PI code, the radio scans the frequencies of all RDS radio stations that have the same PI code. During the PI function, the sound is muted and PI SEARCH appears on the display. The PI code search stops as soon as the radio finds a suitable radio station. If, after checking the entire frequency range, no station could be found, the search stops and the radio returns to the previously tuned frequency.
EON Extended Network Data Update (This function also works when the AF function is turned off).
Receiving Enhanced EON Network data allows you to automatically retune the frequencies of pre-programmed stations to the same radio network. In addition, it becomes possible to use additional functions provided by this network. When RDS EON FM radio stations are received, the EON indicator lights up on the audio system display.
RDS functions.
PS function (Displaying the name of the radio station).
If the radio is tuned to an RDS radio station, ROS radio messages are received and the name of the station being received is shown on the display.
Alarm interrupt function (ALARM INTERRUPTION - EBU SPEC FOR INFO).
If the radio receives PTY 31 (emergency code), then the current operating mode of the audio system is automatically interrupted, and the broadcast of an emergency message begins with the message PTY31 ALARM indicated on the display. After the emergency message broadcast ends, the audio system will immediately return to its original operating mode.
Local radio reception mode (REG).
- Some local radio stations are united into a regional network, since each of them covers only a small area, limited by the number of repeaters. If during a trip the signal strength received from a radio station becomes too weak, the RDS system automatically switches the audio system to another local radio station with a stronger signal.
- If you turn on the REG mode when the radio is operating in the FM band and is tuned to a local radio station, the radio settings will be saved and switching to other local radio stations will not occur.
Traffic announcement mode (TA).
- TA mode works while listening to FM radio stations, as well as when playing CDs (if the system previously operated in the FM range).
- Turning on and off the TA mode occurs under the following conditions:
- Pressing the TA/NEWS button and holding for at least two seconds (version A).
- Pressing the TA button and holding it for less than 2 seconds (version S).
- TA mode operates regardless of whether AF mode is turned on or off.
- The TA ON indicator is displayed along with the TA indicator after the traffic announcement reception mode is turned on.
Function of interrupting the current mode with a traffic message.
- This function only works when TA mode is enabled.
- If the TA mode is turned on, then the radio receiver, having detected the broadcast of a traffic message, is tuned to the radio station that transmits this message and the sound volume is set to a preset level.
- At the end of the traffic message broadcast, the audio system will return to the mode that was turned on before the message was broadcast. The previous volume level will also be restored. Reception of a radio station that is part of the extended EON network is automatically interrupted if a traffic message is broadcast by another EON radio station.
- If you press the TA button during the broadcast of a traffic message, the function of interrupting the current mode for transmitting traffic messages is terminated. The TA function goes into standby mode and the audio system returns to its previous mode.
NEWS mode (News)
- To turn news reception on or off (NEWS) in the FM range press the TA NEWS button (version A) or NEWS (version B) and hold it for more than two seconds. After switching on the NEWS mode, the message NEWS appears on the display, which goes out after three seconds and the NEWS indicator turns on.
- If NEWS mode is active, when the audio system receives a news code (FM radio stations) the current operating mode will be interrupted. After the news broadcast ends, the audio system will immediately return to its original operating mode.
1. News standby mode.
- You can turn on the news standby mode if the audio system is operating in FM radio or CD player mode.
- When you press the TA NEWS button (version A) or NEWS (version B) for more than 2 seconds, the news standby mode will be disabled and NEWS will disappear from the display.
2. Interrupt mode for broadcasting news.
- As soon as the radio receiver recognizes the news code broadcast by the configured station or EON network, the user will be informed that the current operation will be interrupted and the message NEWS will be shown on the display. The audio system will switch to the frequency of the interrupting station and its name will be displayed.
- If you click on the TA NEWS button (version A) or NEWS (version B) during a news interruption, the audio system will return to the previous operating mode. The news standby mode will not be cancelled.
- If the CD button is pressed during news interruption mode, the audio system will switch to CD playback mode. However, the news standby mode will not be canceled.
- If you switch the radio to the medium range (MW) or long (LW) waves, the news standby mode will be disabled.
