Removal
1. Remove the wheels from the vehicle.
2. Remove the mounting bolts from the caliper bracket. Hang the caliper bracket so that it does not interfere with your work. See chapter «Brake system».
Attention. Do not press the brake pedal after removing the brake caliper.
3. Remove the brake disc. See chapter «Brake system».
4. Remove the wheel sensor from the axle housing and control rod and disconnect the electrical wiring. See chapter «Brake system».
5. Unscrew the parking brake cable mounting bolts and separate the cable from the suspension arm. See chapter «Brake system».
6. Remove the electrical wiring for the automatic headlight leveling control unit from the control rod (on models with xenon headlights). See chapter «Driver-controlled instruments».
7. Remove the main muffler. See chapter «Accelerator, fuel system and exhaust system».
8. Remove the stabilizer bar.
9. Remove the drive shafts (on 4WD models). See above.
10. Remove the driveshaft (on 4WD models). See chapter «Power transmission».
11. Remove the rear final drive (on 4WD models). See chapter «Power transmission».
12. Remove the shock absorber.
13. Compress the spring.
14. Support the rear suspension beam with a suitable jack.
15. Unscrew the rear suspension beam mounting nuts and bolts.
16. Slowly lower the jack and remove the rear suspension beam, control rod and control arm assembly from the vehicle.
Attention. When removing the suspension assembly, secure it to a jack.
17. Unscrew the mounting bolts and nuts and remove the control rod, transverse arm and suspension beam protection (on 4WD models) from the rear suspension beam.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- Perform final tightening of all components removed when removing the rear suspension beam in an unloaded condition.
- Check whether the wheel sensor wiring is connected correctly. See chapter «Brake system».
Check after removal
Check the rear suspension beam for deformation, cracks or other damage. Replace if necessary.
Check after installation
1. Adjust the parking brake (stroke length). See chapter «Brake system».
2. Check the rear wheel alignment angles. See above.
3. Adjust the neutral position of the steering angle sensor. See chapter «Brake system».
