Vacuum brake booster. 1. Master cylinder assembly; 2. Vacuum brake booster; 3. Lock nut; 4. Gasket; 5. Spacer.
Removal
1. Remove the battery and bracket.
2. Remove the air duct and air cleaner housing. See chapter «Mechanical part of the engine».
3. Remove the master cylinder assembly. See above.
Attention:
- Press the brake pedal several times and release the vacuum from the brake booster. Then remove the master cylinder assembly.
- Do not press the brake pedal after removing the master cylinder assembly.
- The master cylinder piston assembly is not protected. Be careful not to damage it when removing the master cylinder.
- If you pull too hard, the piston may fall out. Do not touch the piston. When working on the master cylinder assembly, grasp the cylinder body.
4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster. See above.
5. Remove the cotter pin (1) and finger earrings (2) from the salon side.
6. Remove the nuts from the brake booster and brake pedal assembly. See above.
7. Remove the brake booster assembly from the engine compartment bulkhead.
Attention:
- Do not deform or bend brake pipes.
- Remove the spacer from the brake booster
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
Attention:
- Do not damage the threads of the brake booster studs. If it is tilted during installation, the threads on the partition may be damaged.
- Do not deform or bend the brake pipes when installing the brake booster.
- Always install a new gasket between the brake booster and the spacer.
- Replace the earring pin if it is damaged. See above.
- After installation, bleed the brake system. See above.
Attention. Do not reuse drained brake fluid.
