Engine MR20DE 1. Clamp; 2. Vacuum hose; 3. Vacuum tube; 4. Clamp; 5. Vacuum hose (with built-in stop valve); A. To the intake manifold; B. To the brake booster; C. Paint mark; D. Marking indicating the direction towards the engine.
Removal and installation
Removal
1. Remove the cover from the engine. See chapter «Mechanical part of the engine».
2. Remove vacuum hoses and tubes.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
Attention:
- Since a stop rivet is built into the vacuum hose, it must be installed in the required direction. Follow the labeling. If the hose is not connected correctly, the brake booster will not function normally.
- Insert the vacuum hose to a depth of at least 24 mm (A).
- Do not use lubricating oil during assembly.
- When connecting a vacuum hose, insert with the mark facing up.
- When connecting the vacuum hose (with built-in stop valve) insert with the marking towards the front of the car.
Check after removal
Visual inspection
Check that assembly is correct and there is no damage or wear.
Checking the tightness of the stop valve.
Perform the test using a hand vacuum pump (A).
When connecting from the amplifier side (IN): The vacuum reduction should be about 1.3 kPa (10 mmHg) for 15 seconds at -66.7 kPa vacuum (-500 mmHg). When connecting on the motor side (WITH) There shouldn't be a vacuum.
- If the vacuum hose and stop valve do not operate properly, replace the vacuum hose assembly.
