Checking the appearance
Check the surface of the brake disc for uneven wear, cracks and serious damage. Replace if necessary.
Runout check
1. Secure the brake disc to the wheel hub and wheel bearing assembly using the wheel nuts (in 2 places or more).
2. Check the runout with an indicator (at a distance of 10 mm from the outer edge of the disk).
Max. Runout: See section below «Technical data and specifications».
Note. Before checking, make sure that the wheel bearing axial play is within normal limits. See chapter «Rear axle and suspension».
3. If the runout is significant, find the point of minimum runout by sequentially shifting the installation position of the brake disc on the hub and wheel bearing assembly by one hole.
4. If the runout is still abnormal, replace the brake disc or re-bore it on a brake drum lathe.
Checking the thickness
Check the thickness of the brake disc with a micrometer. If the thickness is below the limit value, replace the brake disc.
Wear limit: See section below «Technical data and specifications».
