2. First check the accelerator cable adjustment.
3. Loosen the reverse shift cable locknuts completely ("A" And "IN", Pic. 7.5) on the upper end, on each side of the accelerator cable bracket.

4. Open the throttle fully.
5. Separate the outer shell "Q" reverse shift cable down (direction "T") until all the cable play is eliminated, tighten the locknut "IN" up (direction "U") pendants. Unscrew the lower lock nut "IN" three full turns to the specified backlash, then secure the locknut "A" down (direction "U") and pinch it. Release the throttle pulley and, while pressing the fuel control pedal, check the adjustment of both cables.
6. The same regulator, with two locknuts, is also available at the lower end of the cable (Pic. 7.8). If there is not enough adjustment range at the top end, use the two locknuts at the bottom to adjust the cable.

7. Check the movement of the kickdown cable, first check the adjustment as described above, then check that the cable is laid without sharp bends or loops.
8. Check that the accelerator pedal is released and that the throttle pulley is in the fully closed position (idle speed) (position 'P2'. Pic. 7.7). Using white paint, mark the drop in the internal cable connection at the point where it exits the outer casing.

9. Open the throttle fully and hold the pulley fully open (place "R"), make a second mark on the inner cable at the point where it emerges from the outer casing. Measure the distance 'L' between the two marks (see fig. 7.7).
10. If the received value is outside the specified range. carefully check the accelerator cable adjustment, remove the air filter cover (carburetor models) or inlet (fuel injection models), and check that the throttle valves are fully open when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed. Also check the condition of the reduction cable itself (kickdown), replace if necessary, check that the transmission control valve lever is securely attached to the cotton wool.
