Ignition timing — checking and adjustment

1. The procedure is described in Chapter 5 this Section, pay attention to the following points:

• (A) Do not disconnect the electric cooling fan motor on non-Turbo models, but the AAC valve and throttle valve switch must be disconnected.
• (b) There is no need to disconnect the vacuum hoses.
• (With) If using a precision tachometer, an adapter will be required. Use Nissan connector number EG 11150000 (Turbo) or EG11160000 (non-Turbo) for connecting the primary winding of the ignition coil and electrical wiring. The tachometer is connected to the adapter terminals.

Adjustment for use of premium unleaded gasoline

2. For non-Turbo models, please refer to Chapter 5 and Specifications this Section.

3. For Turbo models, do not reduce the ignition timing and do not use Premium unleaded gasoline; The minimum octane number of fuel for this engine is 97 RON (unleaded or leaded). See Section 3.
