Generator — removal and installation

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the generator wiring. Unscrew the nut and gasket, release the ground wiring, disconnect the multi-pin plug from the socket.

3. Loosen the generator pivot bolts and the governor retaining bolt. Loosen the adjuster nut or bolt until there is enough slack in the drive belt to remove it from the pulley.

4. Remove the pivot bolts and governor retaining bolt, and remove the generator from the engine.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Adjust the drive belt tension as described in Section 1, connect the generator and battery.
