2. Release the tilt lock lever and move the steering wheel and column to their lowest position.
3. Unscrew the four screws, remove the lower panel under the steering column (photo).

4. Unscrew the four screws and unfasten the steering column base cover. Where applicable, disconnect the ignition switch light wire. Remove the ignition switch, trim and upper steering column cover (photo).

5. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the ignition switch.
6. Using a hammer drill, make a notch in the heads of the bolts that secure the lock to the column and drill out the heads. New bolts will be required during installation (photo).

7. Remove the lock clip, then remove the lock from the column.
8. If the lock will be reused, unscrew the bolts at the protruding ends.
9. The ignition switch can be disconnected, if necessary, by removing the mounting screws.
10. When installing, place it on the side of the column lock, lightly tighten the bolts. Check that the lock is working correctly. If necessary, adjust the position of the lock.
11. Tighten the new bolts evenly until the heads are sheared off. The rest of the assembly procedure is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
