Direct steering system
1. Apply the handbrake, engage 1st or 3rd gear (manual transmission) or "R" (automatic transmission).
2. Remove the wheel caps and loosen the wheel nuts.
3. Raise the front of the car. Remove both wheels.
4. Disconnect the outer tie rod ball joints from the hub fastener.
5. Turn the steering wheel to neutral and remove the ignition key to lock the steering.
6. Remove the bottom column connection.
7. Remove the four steering gear mounting bolts and two clamps.
8. Remove the steering gear through the hole on the side of either wheel.
9. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Tighten all nuts and bolts to the torque specified in Specifications. Check toe-in and wheel angles.
Power steering system
10. Perform the preliminary dismantling described in paragraphs 1-6 above.
11. Clamp the short flexible tube that is connected to the bushing on the steering gear housing, loosen the clamp and remove the tube from the bushing.
12. Clamp the large diameter pressure hose, unscrew the long sleeve nut (photo).

13. Under the vehicle, unscrew the two mounting screws to release the heat shield above the flexible part of the exhaust system, then remove the other two clamp bolts (photo).

28.1ЗС.... remove the two lower clamp bolts (marked with arrows), to release the clamp.
14. In the engine compartment, disassemble the clamp and disconnect the supply pipe from the steering gear casing. Remove the O-ring from the housing opening.
15. Unscrew the four steering gear mounting bolts (photo), remove the two clamps.

17. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Check toe-in and wheel angles.
