Note: Before starting work, please read the Note at the beginning Chapter 18 regarding the hazards of asbestos dust.
1. Remove the brake drum.
2. Remove the brake shoes.
3. Minimize fluid loss by removing the master cylinder reservoir cap and using a flexible hose to drain the brake fluid from the reservoir.
4. Clean the areas around the mounting bolts of the brake wheel cylinder and hydraulic coupling pipe, then unscrew the connecting nut and disconnect the hydraulic pipe.
5. Unscrew the bolt from the working brake cylinder and disconnect it from the mounting location.
6. Reinstallation in its original place is the reverse procedure of removal. Tighten the mounting bolts of the working brake cylinder to the installation, the tightening forces are regulated by the Specifications. When the brake is reassembled, bleed the system as described above, clean up any spilled fluid, then check the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir.
