2. Check the thickness of the friction material remaining on both brake pads through the groove in the brake caliper body (Pic. 9.13). If the friction material of any pad is worn to the minimum thickness or less, all four front brake pads must be replaced as described below.

3. To check, the brake pads must be removed and cleaned. This must be done at maintenance intervals as follows.
4. Move the caliper body outwards, away from the friction material. If the pads are worn unevenly or are contaminated with oil, find and correct the cause of the contamination before installation.
8. If the pads are still serviceable, clean them with a clean wire brush. Clean grooves in friction material (if any), spacers, anti-rattle springs and pad installation location in the caliper body and suspension.
9. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Install the wheel.
10. Repeat the procedure on the opposite brake caliper, lower the car, tighten the wheel nuts with the tightening torque specified in the Specifications.
11. Check the hydraulic fluid level.
