42.1. Location of heating pipes and fan behind the dashboard
2. The valves can be removed from the dashboard on the passenger side of the vehicle. In practice this turns out to be quite difficult to do, so it is recommended to first remove the dashboard so that you can remove the brackets and push out the valves (see photos). Note that the small side defroster grilles have pipes behind them that are attached with a single screw.
42.2. Dashboard grilles installed in the opening
3. To remove the rear heater pipes, first remove the front seats (Chapter 34), center console (Chapter 36), footwell trim panels and door sill protector panels (Chapter 33). Remove the dashboard (Chapter 37) and unscrew the bolts from the driver's footrest. Depress the brake pedal and remove the dashboard hanger bracket so you can roll up the floor mats. Now remove the pipes that are attached to the front with one screw.
4. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order, according to the relevant Chapters.
