2. Disconnect the windshield washer hose.
3. Mark the position of the hinge plates on the back of the hood with a pencil.
4. Place the hood on the stops.
5. Invite an assistant to hold the hood, then remove one central bolt on both hinges and remove the hood from the car (see photo).

6. Reassemble in the reverse order, using new sealant. Do not tighten the bolts until you are sure that the hood closes correctly. For more information on adjusting the hood lock, see Chapter 9.
7. The front hood and rear rubber seals are attached with plastic clips. Rear seals are also secured where necessary with double-sided tape or glue.
8. The front hood moldings are secured with three screws in their rear edges and double-sided adhesive tape on the front edges.
9. The hood air intake is attached with three nuts and a gasket.
