Trunk lid (Sedan) — removal and installation

1. You will need an assistant. First, with the trunk lid open, place a thick cloth pad below each front corner to protect the paint.

2. Disconnect the wires from the license plate lamp and remove them from the mounting brackets on the trunk lid.

3. Mark the position of the hinge on the back of the trunk lid with a pencil.

4. Have an assistant support the cover, then unscrew the hinge bolt (see photo) and remove it.



5. If necessary, the trunk lid torsion bars can be removed. The hinge guides can also be removed by removing the pins and fasteners from the outer end of each hinge pin.

6. Reassemble in the reverse order, but apply a little grease to the hinge pins. Do not tighten the hinge guide bolts until the trunk lid is aligned with the body. To adjust, see Chapter 22.

7. To remove the trunk lid, open it completely, unscrew the lock nuts and pull out the plastic brackets. Remove the cover, noting the position of the seal. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.

8. No information about installing emblems (where is it equipped).
