Removing
1. Remove the checkpoint (see subsection 9.1).
2. Mark the position of the clutch on the flywheel.
3. Loosen the bolts gradually in a criss-cross pattern.
4. Remove the clutch paying attention to the position of the friction disc.
Examination
Attention! It is recommended to replace the entire clutch assembly with the release bearing, even if only individual parts are to be replaced.
1. Carefully clean the clutch by wiping with an alcohol-based fluid.
2. Check friction lining wear.
3. If the distance from the friction lining surface to the rivet heads is less than or equal to 0.3 mm, then replace the friction linings.
4. Replacement of linings is also required if traces of oil, signs of deformation, cracks, slip marks are found on them.
5. Check the condition of the splines of the friction disc hub, springs, integrity of the rivets.
6. If traces of oil are found on the friction disc, find the cause and eliminate it before installing a new disc.
7. Check the condition of the pressure plate, check the strength of the riveting by shaking the disc.
8. If signs of overheating are visible (bluish tint) or the diaphragm spring is weak, replace the clutch.
9. Check the condition of the ground surfaces of the pressure plate and flywheel.
10. Minor defects grind, in case of severe damage, replace the part.
11. Check the condition of the release bearing, replace if there are any defects.
Installation
1. Thoroughly clean flywheel and clutch surfaces.
2. Install the friction disc with the hub facing away from the flywheel.
3. While holding the friction disc, place the clutch basket assembly on the dowel pins, aligning the marked marks.
4. Tighten the bolts by hand.
5. Center the friction disc.
6. The disk can be centered by rotating the rod in the hub, resting against the flywheel hole or using a special mandrel.
7. Evenly, in several steps, tighten the clutch mounting bolts to the specified torque.
8. Lubricate the splines of the gearbox shaft and the fork axle with a thin layer of refractory grease.
9. Install the checkpoint.
