Thermal vacuum valve on carbureted models
Thermal vacuum valve (indicated by an arrow) located on the right side of the intake manifold.
Replacement
1. The thermal vacuum valve is located on the right side of the intake manifold. The engine and intake manifold must be cold when the valve is removed.
2. Drain some of the coolant from the cooling system (see subsection 2.4.5) to bring the level just below the valve, or prepare a suitable plug to plug the hole in the intake manifold after removing the valve. If you decide to use a plug, take care not to damage the manifold and do not use anything that will allow foreign objects or substances to enter the cooling system.
3. Disconnect both hoses from the valve.
4. Carefully unscrew the valve from the intake manifold and remove the O-ring (if installed).
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Use a new O-ring when installing (if it is needed). If an o-ring was not installed on the valve, lubricate its threads with sealant before installing.
