Catalytic converter (engines 1.4 and 1.6 l)

To avoid damage to this unit, observe the following rules:

• it is forbidden to use leaded gasoline;
• regularly check the serviceability of the ignition and power systems;
• it is forbidden to operate the car for a long time in case of interruptions in the cylinders;
• it is forbidden to turn off the ignition at high engine speeds, or to stop the engine by sharply pressing the throttle pedal with the ignition off;
• it is forbidden to park in places with flammable objects;
• allowed "sulfur" smell from the exhaust pipe on a new car;
• with serviceable power and ignition systems, the unit is designed for a mileage of 90–160 thousand km.
