Removing
1. On models with a 1.6 liter engine, remove the air filter cover (see subsection 6.3.2.2) to improve access to the end of the cable connected to the throttle body.
2. Unhook the cable from the cam on the throttle body.
3. Turn away nuts of a cover of a cable to an arm and get a cover of a cable from an arm.
4. Release the cable along the entire laying route.
5. Inside, remove the bottom panel from the driver's side.
6. Disconnect the cable from the pedal.
7. Turn away nuts of fastening of a cover to a partition of a motor compartment and get a cable, having extended in a motor compartment.
Installation
1. Pass the cable through the bulkhead of the engine compartment.
2. Pull the cable into the engine compartment and lay it in place.
3. Fasten the cable sheath to the bulkhead of the engine compartment with nuts.
4. Attach cable to pedal.
5. Install the bottom panel.
6. Secure the cable sheath along the entire route.
7. Attach the cable to the cam on the throttle shaft.
8. Adjust cable. On models "Phase II" with a 2.0 liter engine, the throttle valve is controlled via an intermediate cam that is mounted on top of the intake manifold. Then adjust the throttle cam setting.
Throttle Cam Adjustment
1. Loosen the locknut and remove the intermediate cam stop screw.
2. While holding the cam in the fully open position, turn the screw until it touches the limit lever. Then, release the cam and turn the screw three full turns clockwise. While holding the screw, tighten the locknut.
3. Move the cam to the full throttle position and check that the cam stop lever touches the screw.
