Models mentioned in this section "Phase I" (release before June 1993) And "Phase II" (release after June 1993). On vehicles with a 1.6 liter engine, a multi-port fuel injection system (engine code GA16DE) installed, only starting with models "Phase II" (release after June 1993). On vehicles with a 2.0 liter engine, the vehicle model ("Phase I" or "Phase II") can be determined by the shape of the intake manifold. On models "Phase I" the throttle body is mounted on the base of the intake manifold, and the manifold rises up to the cylinder head; the fuel injectors are located on top of the intake manifold and are easily accessible. On models "Phase II" the throttle body is mounted on top of the intake manifold and the manifold drops down to the cylinder head; fuel injectors are less available.
Attention! Many operations require the removal or disconnection of fuel lines, which can result in fuel leakage. Gasoline is a very dangerous and volatile liquid and special care is required when handling it.
Attention! Residual pressure remains in the fuel pipes for a long time after the vehicle has been in motion. Before disconnecting any fuel lines, relieve pressure from the fuel system following the instructions in subsection 6.3.2.6.
