On cars with a converter, the exhaust system consists of 4 sections - the same 3 sections and the converter section. Two neutralizers are installed on part of the cars, one of which is docked to the manifold.
The entire length of the exhaust system pipes are suspended on rubber supports, the pipes are connected by flanges.
Removing
Each of the sections can be dismantled independently of the others. You can also remove the entire system at once.
1. Raise the car and put it on stands (or drive into a pit or overpass).
Downpipe
2. On vehicles with a catalytic converter, disconnect the connector from the exhaust gas sensor. Remove wiring from brackets.
3. Unscrew the nuts attaching to the manifold and the bolt attaching to the bracket, disconnect the pipe from the manifold, remove the gaskets.
4. Disassemble the flange connection with the intermediate section and remove the pipe and gasket.
Converter (on car parts)
5. Unscrew the two nuts and two bolts securing the exhaust pipe flange to the converter.
6. Remove the two bolts securing the intermediate pipe to the converter.
7. Disconnect the converter from the front pipe and remove.
8. Remove the gasket.
Intermediate pipe
9. On vehicles with a converter, unscrew the two bolts securing the intermediate pipe to the converter and remove the gasket.
10. On vehicles without a converter, unscrew the two nuts and two mounting bolts, remove the springs and disconnect the intermediate pipe from the front pipe. Remove the gasket.
11. On all vehicles, remove the rubber pad bolt at the rear of the intermediate tube.
12. Remove the two bolts securing the intermediate pipe to the end pipe of the muffler.
13. Remove the intermediate pipe and gasket.
Silencer end section
14. Remove the two bolts securing the intermediate tube.
15. Unhook the stretch marks and remove the section.
Removing the entire system
16. On vehicles with a catalytic converter, disconnect the connector from the exhaust gas sensor.
17. Unscrew the nuts securing the intake pipe to the manifold and the bolt to the bracket, disconnect the pipe from the manifold, remove the gasket.
18. Working with an assistant, disconnect the system from the rubber pads and remove from the vehicle.
Heat shields
19. Shields are installed on parts of cars between the body and exhaust pipes and are fastened with nuts, bolts and brackets.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
2. Before assembly, replace gaskets and clean split surfaces.
3. Check the condition of the pillows, replace if necessary.
4. Make sure that there are sufficient clearances between the pipes, bottom and suspension parts.
