Attention! If the chain drive cover is removed without violating the integrity of the cylinder head, then after assembly, slight oil leaks are possible at the place where the cover and cylinder head fit. Keep this in mind, and when removing the chain drive cover, decide in advance whether or not the cylinder head gasket will be replaced.
Removing
1. Remove crankshaft pulley (see subsection 3.2.1.5).
2. Remove both oil pans and oil receiver assembly with coarse filter (see subsection 3.2.1.12).
3. Remove the power steering pump (see subsection 12.15).
4. Remove the coolant pump pulley.
5. Remove generator (see subsection 7.3).
6. Raise the engine by placing a jack under the cast frame of the main bearing caps in the crankcase, after laying a board under the frame. You can also hang the engine on the hoist of the lift, or on the traverse, hooking the hoists to the technological eyes that are provided on the engine.
7. Turn away a coupling bolt of the right support of the power unit, then turn away bolts of fastening and get a support in gathering from a motor compartment. If the rubber pads of the supports have fallen behind the body bracket, then remove the pads as well.
8. Turn away bolts of fastening of an arm and remove an arm of the right support of the power unit from the engine.
9. Loosen and remove the chain drive cover bolts, including the top three cover-to-cylinder head bolts. The bolts are of different lengths, so mark their original position.
10. Remove the cover from the toe of the crankshaft, then by manipulating, remove the cover from the engine compartment. Remove the O-ring from the oil channel, which must be replaced.
11. If the lid guide pins are loose, remove them and store with the lid.
12. Remember the correct position of the chain jet oil jet. If the nozzle comes out freely, remove it and store it with the cap.
13. Remove the oil pump drive gear spacer from the crankshaft toe. Remove the key from the crankshaft (if the key seat in the groove is loose) and store with the spacer.
Installation
1. Before installation, it is recommended to replace the crankshaft oil seal. Carefully remove the used oil seal by prying it out with a large screwdriver.
2. Install the new oil seal with the lips of the sealing lips facing inward. Press the gland into place until it stops against the shoulder. The gland can be pressed in with a tubular mandrel resting only on the outer edge of the gland.
3. Make sure the sealing surfaces of the cover and cylinder block are clean and dry.
4. Install the key on the crankshaft (if filmed).
5. Align the keyway in the oil pump spacer bushing with the key, then slide the bushing over the crankshaft toe.
6. Insert the dowel pins (if filmed) and place the O-ring into the groove around the oil passage. Also check that the chain lubrication nozzle is correctly installed (if the injector was removed).
7. Apply a thin coat of sealant to the split surface of the cylinder head cover.
Attention! Do not apply sealant near the cover oil passage hole and oil groove (in the photo this place is indicated by an arrow).
8. If the cylinder head was not removed, also apply sealant to the upper surface of the cover.
9. Raise the cover and align the oil pump drive gear so that this gear engages with the spacer bushing when the cover is reinstalled. Put the cover on the crankshaft, being careful not to damage the sealing lips, install the cover on the guide pins.
10. Screw the cover fastening bolts into the previous holes, tighten the bolts evenly along the surface of the cover. Tighten in several steps, gradually increasing the force until the specified tightening torque is reached.
11. Wrap three bolts М6 fastenings of a cover of a chain drive to a head of the block of cylinders, tighten bolts with the set moment.
12. Establish an arm of the right suspension bracket of the power unit on the engine, tighten bolts with the set moment. Install the rubber pads on the suspension bracket from the side of the body (if the pillows were delivered), making sure the cushion studs fit into the holes in the bracket. Install the support and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
13. Align the right power unit support with the body bracket, insert the tie bolt and tighten the bolt nut to the specified torque. Remove the vehicle from the stand.
14. Install an oil receiver with a coarse filter and an oil pan (see subsection 3.2.1.12).
15. Install the cylinder head cover (see subsection 3.2.1.4).
16. Set the generator (see subsection 7.3).
17. Install the water pump pulley and tighten the bolts securely.
18. Install the power steering pump (see subsection 12.15).
19. Install the crankshaft pulley (see subsection 3.1.1.5).
