1. If the battery warning light on the instrument panel does not come on when the ignition is on, check the bulb circuit first.
2. If no defects are found, then the generator is faulty, which in this case should be returned for repair or replaced.
3. If the control lamp lights up on the working engine check up a tension of a belt and generator fastening.
4. If no defects are found, return the generator for repair.
5. If there are signs of a malfunction in the charge circuit when the test lamp is on, then check the voltage regulator as follows.
6. Connect a voltmeter to the battery.
7. Bring the engine speed to such that the voltage on the generator is 13-14 V.
8. Enable all consumers (headlights, glass defroster, etc.) and check the voltage, which should still be 13-14V.
9. If the voltage is different, then the generator is defective and should be returned for repair.
