Removing
1. Remove the cylinder head.
2. Remove the distributor.
Attention! If old parts of the distribution mechanism will be installed, they should be installed in the old places. In order not to confuse the parts, it is recommended to prepare a special place for laying out the parts.
3. Take out the poppets and lay them out according to the installation position.
4. Remove valve springs. To remove conical crackers and, at the same time, valves with springs, a special valve spring wringer is used.
5. Compress the valve springs and remove the cone cotters.
6. Loosen and remove the valve lifter.
7. Take out the valve.
8. Remove the upper spring plate, springs and lower spring plates.
9. Remove the valve stem seals.
Installation
1. If old valves and an old cylinder head are being installed, check the valve guides before reassembly.
2. If new valves are installed in an old head, the valve seats in the cylinder head should be machined and the valves lapped.
3. Clean the valves of carbon deposits with a scraper and a wire brush.
4. Lubricate all poppet tappets with engine oil and insert into appropriate holes.
5. Install the camshaft.
6. Replace the cylinder head gasket, install the cylinder head.
7. If required, adjust the valve clearance.
