Removing
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
2. Drain the coolant (see subsection 2.4.5).
3. Disconnect the hose from the thermostat cover.
4. Disconnect the fan thermal switch connector on the intake manifold cover (if provided).
5. Disconnect the wiring from the thermostat cover and set aside.
6. Loosen the bolts and remove the thermostat cover by gently tapping or loosening it.
7. Remove the thermostat from the housing, paying attention to the position of the ventilation valve.
Examination
1. Hang the thermostat in a vessel with water and with a thermometer, as the water heats up, the bypass valve of the thermostat should open. Otherwise the thermostat replace.
2. Check the opening temperature of the thermostat valve.
3. If the thermostat does not close when cooled, it should be replaced.
Installation
1. Clean the split planes of the cover and thermostat housing.
2. Set the thermostat so that the ventilation (indicated by an arrow) the valve is facing up.
3. Carefully apply sealant to the detachable plane of the housing.
4. Install the thermostat cover and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
5. Clip the wiring to the thermostat cover, connect the fan thermal switch connector.
6. Connect the hose.
7. Fill with coolant.
8. Connect the battery to ground.
