Check the tightness of the hose clamps or new hoses after several hundred kilometers of running.
Fill the cooling system if necessary.
Removal and replacement
1. Before starting work, check that new hoses are available along with new clamps if needed. It is recommended to replace the clamps together with the hoses.
2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system (see subsection 2.4.5), while retaining the coolant if it is recyclable.
3. Lubricate the hose clamps with oil if they are corroded.
4. Release the clamps from the respective hoses. Three types of hoses are used; screw, spring and coupling.
5. The screw terminals are released by turning its screw counterclockwise. The spring clamps are released by compressing its ears and removing it from the hose nozzle. The tie clips are not reusable and are best cut off with metal shears or wire cutters.
6. Remove the wires and hoses that are attached to the hose being removed. Just in case, try to remember the previous location of all the elements.
7. Remove the hose from its nozzle in a circular motion. Be careful not to damage the fittings on fragile components such as the radiator. If the hose is stuck firmly, it's often best to cut it off with a sharp knife, but again, don't damage the nipple.
8. Lubricate the fittings with soapy water or other rubber lubricant before installing a new hose. Do not use oil or grease that can corrode rubber.
9. Install the hose clamps on the ends of the hose, then install the hose on the fittings.
10. Lock the hose in this position and then secure the hose clamps.
11. Fill the cooling system.
12. Start the engine and check for leaks.
