The sensor is screwed into the intake manifold.
The sensor is a thermistor.
A stabilized voltage is applied to the sensor, and the signal taken is determined by the change in the sensor current with a change in temperature.
In case of sensor failure (the control lamp on the instrument panel lights up) control is transferred to the backup scheme, which uses the default initial parameters.
Examination
1. To check the sensor, you need to remove it and measure the resistance at different temperatures.
2. It is forbidden to check the sensor on the car.
3. A complete check of the sensor circuit and the engine management system is carried out in a car service.
Removing
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
2. On a cold engine, drain some of the fluid to the level of the thermal switch.
3. Disconnect the thermal switch connector.
4. Carefully unscrew the thermal switch, remove the seal (if provided).
Installation
1. Clean the thermal switch and apply sealant to the threads.
2. Replace seal (if provided).
3. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
