Removing
1. Raise the front of the car and place on stands.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Remove disc and caliper.
4. Remove the speed sensor (on vehicles with ABS).
5. Loosen the wiring bracket and move the sensor aside.
6. Disconnect the axle shaft from only the hub, move aside and secure (see subsection 10.2).
7. Loosen the two nuts securing the strut to the steering knuckle (indicated by arrows), remove the bolts and disconnect the rack.
8. Unsplint and unscrew the nuts, press the ball joint and the tie rod end out of the knuckle eyes.
9. Press the hub out of the bearing. One of the inner races of the bearing should remain on the hub.
10. Press the bearing race off the hub.
11. Take out the outer seal.
12. Remove the inner seal.
13. Remove the circlip from the bore in the bearing knuckle.
14. If the landing of the remaining clip has weakened, then get the clip.
15. Press the bearing out of the knuckle with a mandrel of suitable diameter, which rests only on the outer part of the bearing.
16. When pressing out, rest the back of the fist.
17. The bearing can also be pressed out by hitting the inserted inner race through the tubular mandrel.
Installation
1. Before installing a new bearing, thoroughly clean the inside of the knuckle.
2. Press in the outer race of the bearing, resting with the mandrel only on the outer edge. It is forbidden to lubricate the outer part of the cage to facilitate pressing.
3. Insert the retaining ring into the groove in the knuckle hole.
4. Put grease into the oil seal cavity and carefully press the oil seal from the outside of the steering knuckle.
5. Install the outer knuckle brace.
6. Put grease in the stuffing box and press the stuffing box from the inside of the knuckle.
7. Securely resting the inner race of the bearing, carefully press the hub into the knuckle.
8. Check the freedom of rotation of the hub.
9. Attach the axle shaft and tighten the nut to the specified torque.
10. Put on the disc and brake caliper.
11. Attach the lower arm ball joint, install a new nut and tighten to the specified torque.
12. Fasten the nut with a new cotter pin.
13. Attach the rack, replacing the bolts and nuts.
14. Tighten bolts and nuts to specified torque.
15. Attach the tie rod, replacing the nut and cotter pin.
16. Install the wheel and lower the car.
