If the scratch is only superficial and does not penetrate the metal of the body, it is very easy to fix it.
1. Wipe the area around the scratch with a paint repairer or a very fine polishing paste to remove loose paint from the scratch and clean the surrounding area of wax.
2. Rinse this area with clean water.
3. Apply new paint to the scratch with a thin brush; continue applying thin coats of paint until the surface of the paint on the scratch is flush with the surrounding paint.
4. Wait at least two weeks for the paint to harden, then blend it into the surrounding paint by treating the scratched area with repair mortar or a very fine polishing paste.
5. Then apply wax polish.
If the scratch has penetrated the body metal, causing the metal to rust, another method must be used.
1. Remove the rust from the bottom of the scratch with the point of a knife, then apply a coat of anti-rust paint to prevent future rust.
2. Using a rubber or nylon brush, fill the scratch with primer.
3. If necessary, the primer can be mixed with thinner to form a very thin paste, which is excellent for filling fine scratches.
4. Before the primer hardens, wrap a piece of soft cotton around your finger.
5. Dip your finger into the thinner and quickly run it over the surface of the primer on the scratch, this is to ensure that the surface of the primer is slightly concave.
6. The scratch can then be painted over.
