Removing
1. Remove the steering column covers and the lower section of the instrument panel on the driver's side.
2. Squeeze the slider latches on the cable, slide towards the cable sheath cap, and remove the linkage and adjuster holder.
3. Remove the cable sheath cap from the bracket.
4. Remove from the cylinder of the lock of the ignition a clip for fastening of the holder and remove a cable.
Installation
Attention: After removing the cable, do not reuse it, replace it with a new one.
1. Turn the ignition key to the ACC or ON position, attach the cable holder to the ignition switch and secure with a clip.
Caution: Do not reuse the clamp.
2. Turn the ignition key to the LOCK position.
3. Set the automatic transmission selector lever to position P, connect the cable adjuster holder to the control mechanism rod.
4. Install the cable sheath cap onto the control mechanism bracket.
Attention:
Do not twist or bend the cable during installation.
After installing the cable on the control mechanism, make sure that the cap of the cable sheath and the bracket are tightly fastened.
5. To prevent the slider on the cable from touching other parts, slide it towards the link, tightly fasten the regulator holder and link.
Attention:
After installing the slider, do not press on its latches.
While moving the slider, do not apply force in the transverse direction of the link.
6. Establish covers of a steering column and the lower section of the instrument panel from outside the driver.
